Senate Voting Bill Reshuffles County Early Voting Sites

The Senate has debated SB 279, Administration legislation on “Improving Access to Voting.” The bill passed its second reader on Thursday morning, receiving amendments from both the Committee and the floor, before being printed for a final Senate floor vote in the coming days.

Among the bill’s many provisions are a new set of allowances for early voting locations for each county. The Committee amendments refined the threshold number of registered voters for counties to have multiple early voting sites.
