MACo and the county community today mourn the loss of Nelson Bolender, Cecil County Commissioner from 1998-2006, and President of MACo in 2005. Commissioner Bolender died Thursday morning, February 14.

A former school principal, Commissioner Bolender carried his interest in education and economic development into his county government service. Commissioner Bolender was active within MACo, and also represented county governments as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Local Government Insurance Trust. Following his terms as a county elected official, he continued to serve on the Cecil County Board of Elections.
