Former Caroline County Commissioner Mario “Marty” J. Gangemi has passed away. Gangemi served as commissioner from June 18, 2002 to December 4, 2006. He also served as the Chair of the Caroline County Roads Board from 2002-2006, a member of the Caroline County Board of Health from 2002-2006, and member of the Bainbridge Development Board of Directors since 2011.   For more information on Gangemi’s life and legacy,  read a statement from the Caroline County Board of Commissioners.

Visitation will be Friday, October 26 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 27 in the North Caroline High School Auditorium, and interment will follow the service in the Greensboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Marty Gangemi Memorial Fund, Talbot Bank c/o Amy Hutchison, 118 East Dover Street, Easton, MD 21601. The Memorial Fund will raise money for assistive technologies for kids with special needs and fund a scholarship for North Caroline High School students.
