The Maryland ABCD Network is again seeking nominations for its annual Awards of Excellence. The Network is a coalition of government and nonprofit agencies that works with the business community to revitalize neighborhoods and create healthy and sustainable communities. The Network takes a “holistic” approach to neighborhood revitalization, including the infrastructure, housing, economic, social, and health needs of a particular community.
From the Network’s awards announcement:
The Awards of Excellence are almost here! If you do great work, let the rest of the world know it. Maryland ABCD Network will be awarding awards in each of 4 categories this year:
Innovation Award – for innovation and implementation of cutting edge practices.Collaboration ward – for the best collaboration that cuts across silosLorraine Sheehan Memorial Advocacy Award – for the best advocacy by an organizationand new this year….Legacy Award – for an individual who has contributed to the asset building and community development field in ways that will continue to have impact for years to come. The awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 31 (Halloween Day) at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City. Taking the suggestions on last year’s evaluations, we can promise that the award ceremony WON’T be at the end of the program. We listen and learn.
The other change – you are going to like this – is that the nominations are online in a simple survey format. Easy, giving you no reason not to apply. So start now!
All nominations are due by October 17th. Thank you for all the good work you are doing in communities throughout Maryland, and for nominating yourself or someone else to let us know about it.
