Crofoot Named Kent County Administrator

On Tuesday the Kent County Board of Commissioners announced that Ernest “Ernie” Crofoot has been named the new county administrator and county attorney.  The Start Democrat reports that Susie Hayman, the current county administrator, is set to retire in December.  Crofoot, a well-known voice within Maryland’s county community for the past 20 years, currently serves as the Caroline County attorney.

Over the course of his career, Crofoot has developed an expertise in local government practices.  He has served as a county attorney for Harford County, in the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission general counsel, chief solicitor in the Baltimore City Department of Law, and as an attorney with Funk & Bolton, P.A.

Crofoot is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Baltimore School of Law.
