The MACo Summer Conference is in full swing with registrants attending an array of educational sessions and networking with exhibitors.
On Wednesday, local government officials participated in continuing education courses. A “Consensus and Team Building” session addressed sharing ownership of ideas and programs with a broad group of stakeholders and how doing so can facilitate stronger working relationships that have far-reaching positive effects. A session entitled “Public Information Act” helped officials and local government employees at all levels deal with the public by informing them about the requirements of Maryland law on the handling of public records. Both sessions were core classes for the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance, a voluntary training program designed to help local government officials meet the challenges of governing.
Today the Conference will officially open at 9 am with the Welcoming Session followed by a day of educational sessions.
