MACo Summer Conference Session Tracks

MACo is offering two session tracks this year – “Economic Development” and “Legal & Liability.”

These two tracks will allow attendees with these specific interests to have a more concentrated learning experience. Each track is comprised of 4 sessions dedicated to that topic – one session in each of our 4 Affiliate Session time blocks. Each track is then ended with a Wrap-Up Breakfast on Saturday morning so that those who participated in the tracks can discuss the issues and lessons learned with their colleagues.

The Economic Development Track sessions are:

  • “Build it and Ideas Will Come – Creating an Entrepreneurial Culture”
  • “A New Approach to Reducing Health Disparities –
    Maryland’s Health Enterprise Zones”
  • “Red Light, Green Light: Maryland’s Use of Incentives for Positive Development”
  • “Coping with the Fast-Changing World of Local Planning”

The Legal & Liability Track sessions are:

  • “The New Addiction—Prescription Drug Abuse”
  • “The Constitution Meets Today’s Public Policy”
  • “In the Courts, In the News: Public Safety Legal Issues”
  • “Leveraging Volunteer Resources—Creating a “Win” for the
    Volunteers, Agencies, and the Community”
