MACo Executive Director Michael Sanderson joined a March 26 Annapolis event, sponsored by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees — with Maryland’s AFSCME 67 coordinating the event.
Mr. Sanderson was among several speakers addressing a gathering of nearly 200 employees and organizers, speaking about the joint efforts between county employees and county governments to resist the teacher pension shift, new maintenance of effort enforcement, and other measures that harm county government services and employees. He projected “more work ahead for all of us” and urged the labor and government organizations to work together: “You do some things much better than we can do them, and we can help you in ways that make you even more effective. We’ve got to work together,” he asked.
