The legislation including the Governor’s proposed teacher pension shift, the Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act of 2012 (BRFA), introduced as SB 152, is scheduled to be heard in the Senate on February 29 at 1:00 p.m.
MACo has taken a position in opposition to the pension shift and the BRFA bill, and will be making both written and oral remarks to the committees hearing the bill. (A House of Delegates hearing is likely to be held roughly a week later)
For more information on the proposed pension shift, see previous Conduit Street coverage:
For county officials interested in attending the hearing, submitting written testimony, or participating as a panelist, please contact MACo Legislative Director Andrea Mansfield.
