A December 1 Frederick News Post article recounts the status of the proposed waste-to-energy facility in Frederick County. The facility is a joint project between Frederick and Carroll Counties and will service both jurisdictions.
Construction of a waste-to-energy incinerator in Frederick County is on pace to start by August 2012, and the plant could be up and running three years later.
All that remains is final permitting, which is still being reviewed, Michael Marschner, special projects manager for the county, told the Rotary Club of Frederickon Wednesday. …
“Everything is proceeding pretty much on schedule,” Marschner said. “These are large projects that take a lot of time to develop.”
In the article Mr. Marschner also discusses the importance of the facility, addresses potential safety and environmental concerns, and refutes a story that Carroll County may be looking to pull out of the agreement.
