Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz has been elected to serve as the chair of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC). BMC is a regional group that facilitates collaboration on regional strategies, plans and programs to improve the quality of life and economic vitality in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties.  The Council provides assistance to member jurisdictions on an array of  issues including air and water quality, economic and demographic research and transportation.

“The BMC offers local officials an effective structure to pool resources and work together on programs and solutions that address the similar challenges we all face,” Kamenetz said. “I look forward to collaborating with my counterparts in other Baltimore area jurisdictions to strategize proactive approaches to move us forward as a region.”
