In a landslide victory, Derrick Leon Davis won the election held yesterday in Prince George’s County for the District 6 seat that was vacated last July by Leslie Johnson. Councilman-Elect Davis, who has run twice before, captured 91% of the vote in this overwhelmingly democratic district. District 6 includes Capitol Heights, Forestville, Kettering, Largo, Mitchellville, Upper Marlboro, and parts of Bowie. Mr. Davis is expected to be sworn in in early November.
Councilman-Elect Davis, formally a school system official, currently chairs the the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund.
