U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan awarded the state of Maryland with a $2.5 million grant for homeless programs throughout the state. HUD’s Continuum of Care grant will provide critically needed housing and support services to homeless individuals in urban communities in Baltimore City and central Maryland, as well as rural communities in western Maryland and on the Eastern Shore. Secretary Donovan stated:
“Today, we build on this Administration’s goal to prevent and end homelessness in America. This funding will make a significant impact in the lives of thousands of people and provide resources to put them on the road of independence.”
