Howard County Council Approves School Zone Cameras

On Monday night, the Howard County Council voted to allow speed cameras in school zones. From WBALTV.com:

County Executive Ken Ulman has projected revenues of $1.2 million in his budget proposal that is now before the council. However, the program is expected to cost just under $1 million.  

Critics said speed cameras an intrusion on privacy, while supporters said the cameras are a more efficient way to slow drivers down.
