Howard County Council Approves School Zone Cameras

On Monday night, the Howard County Council voted to allow speed cameras in school zones. From

County Executive Ken Ulman has projected revenues of $1.2 million in his budget proposal that is now before the council. However, the program is expected to cost just under $1 million.  

Critics said speed cameras an intrusion on privacy, while supporters said the cameras are a more efficient way to slow drivers down.
