Anticipating a revenue shortfall from the Maryland State income tax, the Talbot County Council voted unanimously to reduce the fiscal year 2011 budget by $3.65 million on Tuesday. This reduction comes after the State informed the County that actual revenue from income tax for the November 2010 quarterly payment were $3,098,868 less than originally budgeted. Expenditures were reduced in employee benefits, reserve for contingencies and not funding Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) this year.
