The Montgomery County Department of Transportation has received $15.4 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding to be directed towards transportation infrastructure projects. The ARRA funds have been allocated between the Division of High Services (DHS) , the Division of Transit Services (DTS) and the Division of Traffic Engineering (DTE). Projects include improvements to seven deteriorated roadways, the replacement of existing transit buses with diesel-electric hybrids and the installation of traffic signal power backup units throughout the county.
