On September 23rd, Harford County Government will be unveiling the Harford County Green Business Network (HCGBN) as part of the County’s continuing efforts to expand economic growth and environmental stewardship. Recognizing local businesses that have incorporated environmental sustainability into their business models, the county hopes to demonstrate that energy efficiency and resource management can both cut costs and create a “greener” footprint. The Harford County Office of Economic Develop has announced that they will be offering assistance to companies that are interested in the network. In a press release, Director of the Office of Economic Development Jim Richardson stated,
“It is becoming increasingly common for businesses across all industry sectors to implement environmental sustainability goals; this is especially true in the area of reducing energy use and associated costs. In order to address these challenges a public/private partnership is critical.”
