Wednesday has been an increasingly busy day at the MACo Summer Conference in recent years, and this was evident from this year’s program. Attendees yesterday found well-attended afternoon sessions discussing Chesapeake Bay Cleanup and the emerging discussion over “total maximum daily loads” (TMDLs), as well as a discussion of cybersecurity and its role in military base realignment in Maryland. Other more targeted discussions during the day reviewed recent legislation on scrap metal dealers, the process of implementing the Inter-county Connector roadway, and conference oversight and logistics.
Thursday morning will mark the opening of the Exhibit Halls and the “Financial Management” course constituting a core element of the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance.
