Attention planners: A new guide, Smart Growth for Coastal and Waterfront Communities has been released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, ICMA, and Rhode Island Sea Grant. Developed in consultation with the national Smart Growth Network, the guide builds on the network’s 10 smart growth principles to create coastal and waterfront-specific strategies for development. It is intended for planners, local government officials, developers, residents, and other stakeholders.
