Prince George’s County Launches Private Security Camera Incentive Program

The Alsobrooks Administration has announced the launch of the Private Security Camera Incentive Program, which aims to enhance community safety by increasing the number of security cameras in priority areas across Prince George’s County, including Langley Park, Glassmanor, and Walker Mill.

“We are committed to reducing crime and promoting equity throughout Prince George’s County,” said County Executive Alsobrooks. “This program builds on our track record of success in fighting crime and empowers residents and businesses to actively participate in enhancing community safety.”

County Executive Alsobrooks, in collaboration with the County Council, the Prince George’s County Police Department, and the Office of Community Relations, spearheaded the creation of the Private Security Camera Incentive Program. This innovative program offers rebates for installing security camera systems on properties owned or leased by residents, non-profit organizations, and businesses.

Under this program, eligible applicants can receive a $200 rebate for the installation of a security camera system, covering one camera for residents and two cameras for businesses. Additionally, $100 is available to offset subscription costs. For more details, see the full press release here

Residents, non-profit organizations, and businesses interested in participating in the Private Security Camera Incentive Program can apply and learn more about the program by visiting securitycamera.princegeorgescountymd.gov.
