2026 County Primary Election Results – MACo Summary

MACo staff are closely following and reporting on county primary election results across Maryland as voters shape the field for the November general election. While several races are “too close to call” with mail-in votes still pending, many results seem clear.

The team at Conduit Street is working from the most current election results available, which remain unofficial until certified by local boards of elections. While many contests have produced clear outcomes, several races remain highly competitive and could shift as election officials continue to count and verify ballots. As such, races that are even reasonably close should be viewed as “in play” until final tallies are announced – with no clear timetable for that to happen county by county.

As results are updated, Conduit Street will provide ongoing coverage of county races, including open-seat contests, incumbent challenges, and county officials seeking higher office. We will also examine emerging trends from the statewide primary elections and their potential implications for Maryland counties.

As final results are certified, Conduit Street will compile statistics on county elected official turnover, open-seat outcomes, and other key election metrics affecting county government leadership across Maryland.
