This week, Legislative Director Kevin Kinnally marks ten years with the MACo policy staff.
Kevin Kinnally has held the leadership role in MACo’s policy development and advocacy, as MACo’s Legislative Director for the last five years. He has served as the lead staff to
MACo’s subcommittee dealing with tax and fiscal issues, and will also cover elections and emergency services as policy specialties.
“Kevin has shown from day one that he is deeply interested in, and committed to, the MACo mission” said Executive Director Michael Sanderson. “He’s a very big part of what we do for our members.”
Kevin’s time with the MACo staff dates back to working on policy and communications in 2016. Since 2017 has been part of MACo’s policy team in Annapolis, and has represented counties on financial and intergovernmental issues, public education, and a wide range of subjects. His long term effort contributed centrally to Maryland’s successful roll-out of “next generation” 9-1-1 emergency services to all parts of the state.
Kevin is also the co-host of MACo’s Conduit Street Podcast, delivering weekly insights into state and local policy and politics. The role as host has exposed Kevin to a wide range of county topics, and has broadened MACo’s reach to new audiences.
Kevin has a degree in political science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He has previous work experience as a Senior Project Manager for a firm in Florida.
