Wicomico Council Names Ennis to Fill Vacant District 3 Seat

The Wicomico County Council unanimously appointed David Ennis to represent District 3, restoring full membership after a mid-term vacancy.

Wicomico County Maryland's county sealThe Wicomico County Council voted unanimously on June 17 to appoint David Ennis as the new Council Member for District 3.

The Council finalized the appointment during its Legislative and Open Work Session, and Ennis took the oath of office immediately afterward.

Ennis brings decades of public service experience to the role. He previously served as a council member from 2000 to 2001, appointed to the position, and has remained engaged in local government ever since. He has served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for the majority of the last 30 years and has contributed to the work of the Ethics Committee.

The District 3 seat became vacant in April when former Council Member Shane Baker resigned. The Wicomico County Charter directs the Council to appoint a replacement within 120 days of any vacancy.

Ennis will serve the remainder of Baker’s unexpired term.
