Public Input Session on Accountability for Education Reform in MD

On Monday, June 9, the Blueprint Accountability and Implementation Board (AIB) will hear from members of the public regarding any proposed changes to how the AIB oversees the implementation of education reform in Maryland.

Registration is open to sign up for public comment on the implementation plan for Pillar 5 of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future (Blueprint) – the State’s visionary education reform plan that began implementation three years ago. Pillar 5 is a component of the plan intended to bring about, what is regarded as, some of the most stringent financial accountability measures for education funding in the country. How exactly those assessments are planned for, made, and addressed is contained in the implementation plan for Pillar 5, as adopted by the AIB.

During this listening session state officials will hear from stakeholders interested in making recommendations to the plan.

Following the AIB’s adoption of the initial Blueprint Comprehensive Implementation Plan in December 2022, it is responsible for adopting any changes to the plan by 8/1 annually. The AIB is hosting public input sessions for each Blueprint Pillar at Advisory Committee meetings throughout June. All suggestions will be taken into consideration by the AIB when completing the 2025 Blueprint Comprehensive Plan update. Please note that some suggestions may require legislative action to be incorporated into future plan updates.
