The Maryland Department of Emergency Management (MDEM), in partnership with the Global Peace Foundation, has launched a new threat assessment initiative to help
prevent targeted violence and terrorism before it occurs.
Through its new Threat Assessment and Management (TAM) Training, MDEM is delivering a certified, evidence-based program designed to empower communities with the tools they need to identify, assess, and manage potential threats.
What You Need to Know:
- The training is offered both in-person and online and is available in 1-, 2-, and 6-hour formats.
- Sessions are tailored to campus security, nonprofits, social service professionals, and community organizations.
- The training is recognized and certified, ensuring it meets professional development and safety standards.
- MDEM is working with agencies like the Maryland Center for School Safety, Maryland Behavioral Health Center for Excellence, county community relations officers, and other local organizations to make sure every community has access to tools, training, and referral systems that work.
