The new Toolkit empowers local governments, businesses, and nonprofits with funding information, planning resources, and technical support.
The Maryland Office of Resilience (MOR), a division of the Maryland Department of Emergency Management (MDEM), has launched the Maryland Resilience Toolkit.
This new resource hub, available at ResilientMaryland.com, promises to enhance hazard resilience across the state by offering a wealth of information tailored to meet diverse community needs.
The Maryland Resilience Toolkit consolidates essential resilience resources, making it easier for local governments, state agencies, community leaders, businesses, and nonprofits to access planning tools, funding opportunities, and technical guidance. It addresses various threats—climate change, infrastructure challenges, and natural hazards—ensuring that every Maryland community, from urban hubs to rural areas, can proactively protect residents and infrastructure.
“Our State’s ability to adapt, withstand, and recover swiftly from disruptions is critical,” said MDEM Secretary Russ Strickland. “This Toolkit provides the resources our communities need to become more resilient and thrive.”
Who Can Benefit?
The Maryland Resilience Toolkit serves a diverse set of stakeholders involved in hazard resilience efforts:
- State and Local Governments: Operational planners and leadership teams can use the Toolkit to craft comprehensive resilience strategies.
- Resilience Authorities: The Toolkit provides specialized resources to support resilience initiatives at the local level.
- Businesses and Nonprofits: Organizations can proactively use tools to mitigate risks and ensure community well-being.
The Maryland Resilience Toolkit equips communities with the resources to tackle future challenges and build a safer, more prepared Maryland.
