Register today for MACo’s Summer Conference, themed “Turning the Tide.”
With the COVID-19 pandemic entirely in the rearview, counties across the nation are grappling with how to fund and sustain essential services now that the influx of federal funding has ended. Maryland is no exception and has a few belt-tightening years ahead as local governments strive to provide resources for initiatives that were crafted in healthier budget years or have emerged because of the pandemic. The 2024 Summer Conference will examine ways counties can, with an eye on the future, foster and fund county priorities like planning for sustainable growth, modernizing mental health and public safety services, and advancing our education system, among others. Presenters will discuss new avenues for resources and partnerships. Bridging all levels of government and the private sector, counties are looking to turn the tide with innovative solutions for today’s challenges to ensure tomorrow’s success.
