Karrington Anderson Joins MACo Policy Team

MACo has welcomed our newest Policy Team member, Karrington Anderson, who recently returned to Maryland following some years doing similar legislative work in Tennessee.

Karrington Anderson joins MACo as Associate Director of Policy, and will cover a portfolio including employer/employee issues, health and human services, and other fields. She has recently returned to Maryland following several years of advocacy on behalf of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Among her many areas of focus with the Tennessee Chamber were labor and employment, liability reforms, data privacy, and tax policy.

“Ms. Anderson brings some unusually relevant experience to this role,” said MACo Executive Director Michael Sanderson, “she has represented employers and deep-pocket defendants, and also understands local government services. She should adapt quickly and be a great benefit to our counties and their local services.”

Ms. Anderson served as an intern to then-Mayor Jake Day of Salisbury, Maryland (now the State Secretary of Housing and Community Development), where she focused on homelessness prevention research and assisted Salisbury’s City Employee Wellness Committee. She holds her degree in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics from Taylor University.

Ms. Anderson grew up in Salisbury, MD and went to Salisbury Christian School. Be sure to say hello at MACo’s Summer Conference in August!
