The Maryland Department of Labor has released an updated outline of draft regulations overseeing claims processes for the state’s paid leave benefit. Written comments are due on September 29.
The Maryland Department of Labor’s FAMLI Division — tasked with implementing and guiding the statewide Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) law — has released a “FAMLI Claims Regulations Outline” for stakeholders to weigh in on. The revised outline reflects stakeholder feedback from the original discussion document guiding claims regulations.
An email from the FAMLI Division states:
Many stakeholders submitted answers in response to the questions we posed in the Claims Discussion Document. Attached is a draft outline of possible rules regarding claims that reflects stakeholder feedback we received. We welcome additional comments, feedback and suggestions as we further refine the text.
Written comments can be submitted via email to FAMLI.policy@maryland.gov by September 29. All written comments will become part of the public record.
