Harford County created a program to help families memorialize their loved ones while also contributing to the beauty of the environment. Citizens of Harford County can have a tree planted to honor their loved ones.
The Department of Parks and Recreation and The MA & PA Heritage Trail, Inc have teamed up to create a lasting memorial for families. Trees are planted along The MA & PA Heritage Trail and include a small plaque to personalize their remembrance.
The trees not only serve as a tribute to those who have passed away, but they also serve to improve the natural environment along the trail.
Anyone wanting to plant a tree must submit all orders before August 15, when planting season begins. Professional foresters supervise planting, which takes place in September and October. The cost of the tree, the planting, and the memorial plaque is $750.00.
Once the Memorial Tree Order Form is completed, Harford County asks, “Please mail the form and check to: Ma & Pa Memorial Tree Planting, 1707 Fallston Road, Fallston, MD 21047. Checks can be made payable to Harford County, MD. For more information, please get in touch with Matt Frosolone at 410-638-3559 or mjfrosolone@harfordcountymd.gov.”
