The Maryland Municipal League (MML) Summer Conference will feature a course on collaborative leadership as an offering for graduates of the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance.

The Academy for Excellence in Local Governance is a voluntary certificate program for county and municipal officials and features foundational and deep-dive courses centering on governance best practices. The Academy Graduate program is a professional development program for those who have completed the Academy Fellow certificate.

Title: Collaborative Leadership

Description: Led by Professor Ricco Hall with the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy, the class will explore strategies for shifting away from hierarchical, command and control approaches to one focused on transparency and the empowerment of new voices and ideas, especially when you need solutions that are both creative and durable.
