RS BioTherapeutics, Inc. (RSBT), a pharmaceutical company focused on harnessing the therapeutic power of cannabinoids to create life-changing medicines, is set to open its doors in Garrett County, bringing jobs and economic growth to the area.
The decision to locate the new cultivation and manufacturing facility in Garrett County was based on several factors, including the area’s skilled workforce, strategic location, and business-friendly environment. RS Therapeutics is excited to be part of the County community and looks forward to contributing to the local economy.
“This building will house state-of-the-art equipment that will set the bar for botanically derived pharmaceutical products. It will be not only a showplace for RSBT but also McHenry, and Garrett County,” said RSBT CEO Dean Hart. “We are thrilled to be here and the welcoming partnership with Garrett County was evident from our very first call. We look forward to working with everyone in the future and making a positive, lasting impression on the community.”
The new business is expected to create over 100 new jobs in the next 5 years, providing opportunities for residents to gain new skills and earn a great wage.
“This is a very exciting day for us in Garrett County. We are adding a very promising company to our business community that really wants to get involved and become a key partner in everything Garrett County. On top of that, they have cutting-edge products that will provide high-paying careers and they could quickly become one of our larger employers. I am very impressed with their leadership team and think this will be a productive partnership for a long time. There is a lot of potential here,” said Commissioner Paul Edwards.
RS BioTherapeutics expects to begin immediately outfitting the shell building and be completely operational by the fall of 2023.
The organization is located in Lot 1 at the McHenry Industrial Park in McHenry, Maryland.
