County Officials Role in the Legislature: A Session Exclusively for Newly Elected Officials

As part of MACo’s Newly Elected Officials Orientation, participants will hear from a state Senator and Delegates offering tips for working effectively with county delegations in the General Assembly.

State elected officials want to hear from counties regarding legislation affecting local revenues, operations, and services. After all, both serve the same constituencies, and county elected officials and professionals are deeply immersed in their communities.

At the MACo Winter Conference, newly-elected county officials will learn the importance of working with their county’s General Assembly delegation and how they can participate in MACo’s advocacy efforts at the MACo Winter Conference.
