Cecil Recognizes Tourism Partners

The Cecil County Tourism Partner Appreciation Breakfast recognized more than fifty businesses and organizations that partner with the County on marketing, sponsorship, discounts, promotions, events, and travel writer visits.

“We were thrilled to bring this annual event back after a two-year hiatus due to covid,” said Tourism Manager Sandy Turner. “The event gives us the chance to appreciate and thank our generous partners for all their amazing support.”

According to a County press release:

The County Executive & County Council Tourism Award went to:
Town of North East

The final award of the morning was the Tourism Person of the Year. This person is an entrepreneur who understands the importance of visitor experience, creativity, and partnership.  In his early years of working in the industry, he listened to visitors and took to heart a frequent wish to experience the water.  That lead to the opening of his paddling business which has been a huge success.  He enthusiastically hosts travel writers, helps with projects, and supports tourism efforts.  He served on North East Chamber board, and now serves as a Town of North East Commissioner, but never looks for recognition or the spotlight.  He quietly does what he does, dedicating time, energy, caring, and expertise simply because he believes he should.”

The 2022 Tourism Person of the Year recipient is:
Kelly Benson (Bay Venture Outfitters and Port House Grill)
