Today: Board of Revenue Estimates to Vote on Revised Fiscal Forecast

The Board of Revenue Estimates (BRE) will hold a virtual meeting this afternoon to vote on the revised general fund revenue estimates for fiscal years 2022 and 2023.

The three-member panel, which includes Comptroller Peter Franchot, State Treasurer Nancy Kopp, and Secretary of Budget and Management David Brinkley, is responsible for estimating state revenues to manage the State’s budget.

Projections for the current and following fiscal years will give budget writers and lawmakers an overview of economic trends as they engage in budget deliberations during the 2022 General Assembly session.

Comptroller Franchot, Treasurer Kopp, and Secretary Brinkley will also share their perspectives on the revenue forecasts.

The meeting will be streamed live on the Comptroller’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
