Sanderson Elected into NACo Affiliate Leadership

Maryland’s own Michael Sanderson was elected by peers from across the country to serve as Third Vice President of the National Council of County Association Executives.

Michael Sanderson has joined the leadership queue for the National Council of County Association Executives, an affiliate of the National Association of Counties (NACo) including directors of the various state associations. He was elected by the council membership during its annual fall meeting in October in Duluth, MN.

NCCAE Past President Chris Villines, Executive Director of the Association of Arkansas Counties and chair of the NCCAE nominating committee, offered his perspective and endorsement:

NCCAE is a wonderful organization that embodies the best of ideas from around the country. All county associations are made better through this forum and as past president I can think of no one better to lead our organization than Director Michael Sanderson. His experience and skill will be great assets to us all and I look forward to our progress under his leadership.

Mr. Sanderson, who currently also serves as Chair of a southeastern regional group of state associations, looked forward to his term:

I have gained so much from my work with counterparts across the country, and am looking forward to giving back and sharing through this collaborative work. This is the best professional group I’ve ever been part of.

With the annual advancement of officers, as is common to many such organizations, Mr. Sanderson would be on target to serve as the NCCAE President and as a member of the NACo Board of Directors in 2024-25.
