The Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties have partnered with the Western Maryland Consortium to offer one-time grant awards to help businesses supplement the wages of new hires.
Last week, the Western Maryland Consortium — a regional workforce development organization — announced that the Reemployment Grant program is now available for companies in Washington, Allegany, and Garrett counties.
The program will provide up to $25,000 to county businesses to help reemploy workers most affected by the economic and employment fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order for local businesses to qualify, any new hires must be unemployed residents of Western Maryland.
