MACo Policy Team Welcomes Brianna January

MACo is pleased to welcome Brianna January, new MACo Associate Director, who is joining the policy team and will be at the Summer Conference.

Brianna January brings experience with the Maryland General Assembly, and her background in writing and policy, to her new role with MACo as Associate Director.

“Ms. January already knows the halls of Annapolis, and how to get things done here. Add to that her media savvy and research record, and I think she will step right into a very valuable role for our Association,” said Executive Director Michael Sanderson. “She will hit the ground running.”

Ms. January served for several years in the office of Delegate Kirill Reznik, a leadership member of the House Committee on Appropriations in Annapolis, who chairs its Health and Human Service Subcommittee. With responsibilities ranging from constituent service up through coalition-building, she gained strong familiarity with the Annapolis legislative process and its many intricacies. More recently, she has focused on media and cultural issues, as a Senior Researcher for Media Matters for America, a Washington DC-based advocacy organization focusing on policy in media.

Ms. January has a Master’s degree in public policy from the University of Maryland, and an undergraduate degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
