Baltimore County, Utility Partnering to Install EV Charging Stations

This week, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski announced that the County is partnering with Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) to bring more charging stations to the area.

Building upon other sustainability measures, Baltimore County is working to get 28 new electric vehicle charging stations installed at no cost to the County. Stations will allow EV owners to charge their vehicles with either Level 2 smart chargers or DC fast chargers. A strong charging station network is crucial to encouraging EV adaption. The 28 new stations will add to the already existing network of 17.

From the press release:

“Expanding access to EV chargers in public locations across Baltimore County will be essential in supporting our long-term efforts to increase the number electric vehicles on our roads, reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, and help continue to combat climate change in our communities,” said Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski. “This project is a great example of a public-private partnership that will support sustainable solutions and enhance our future-focused infrastructure.”
