Carroll Seeks Nominations for Environmental Action Awards

The Carroll County Environmental Advisory Council is seeking nominations for the 2021 Environmental Actions Awards. The awards program recognizes community members and groups that work to improve the county’s environment and natural resources.

Awards are issued for projects and efforts that benefit the environment and have the potential for long-term community benefits. The Council presents awards biennially in each of three categories: Positive Practices, Educational Outreach, and Student Engagement.

Nominations

Review the Nomination Guidelines & Eligibility Criteria for more information on who is eligible, the three award categories and types of projects this fit each, submission requirements, and other information related to submitting a nomination. Completed nomination forms, narrative descriptions, and supporting materials must be submitted by close of business on March 1, 2021. Submission packets will be accepted by email at eac@carrollcountymd.gov or mailed to Environmental Action Awards, Attn: Environmental Advisory Council, 225 North Center Street, Suite 209, Westminster MD 21157. All required materials must be submitted by the deadline and conform to the submission requirements in the Nomination Guidelines. Award Winners

Winners will be announced by April 1, 2021. Presentation of awards will tentatively occur in conjunction with an event to be held in celebration of Earth Day (April). The date and details will be announced at a future time.

Awards will be presented to the winner -either group or individual- in each category.

Public Outreach – $75 in gift cards to Salerno’s Restaurant & Catering
Positive Practices – $75 in gift cards to Salerno’s Restaurant & Catering
Student Engagement – $500 scholarship awarded by Atlantic Blue Water Services plus $25 gift card to Olive Garden
