Fun Fact: QUIZ…Can You Label All 24 Maryland Counties on a Map?

Maryland’s counties formed over the course of three centuries. St. Mary’s County was the first, being formed in 1637, while Garrett County was the last in 1872. Baltimore City, although a municipality, has been considered among the number of county jurisdictions since the adoption of the Maryland Constitution of 1851. Many of the counties in Maryland were named for relatives of the Barons Baltimore who were the proprietors of the Maryland colony from its founding in 1634 through 1771.
