Queen Anne’s County Partners with Nonprofit to Build Mountain Bike Trail

Queen Anne’s County Parks and Rec will be working with Mid Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE) to build a single-track mountain bike trail through Terrapin Park.

The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners approved the agreement with MORE to build and maintain a mountain bike trail in the southeast quadrant of Terrapin Nature Park at their Dec 8 meeting. The County will provide continued public access to the trails, while MORE will build, maintain, and inspect the trails.

From the Queen Anne County’s news release:

In the agreement MORE will provide volunteer services to build and maintain the trail, perform monthly inspections and annual all hands workday with smaller group workdays based on the monthly inspections. MORE will also provide stewardship in the continued operation of the trails through educational programs that encourage responsible riding and communications to the cycling community.

MORE was founded in 1992 and maintains hundreds of miles of natural-surface trails in 61 state and county parks throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan region.
