Cecil Completes Broadband Expansion Project

Cecil County, partnered with Comcast, use grant to expand broadband service to area north of Elkton.

The Upper Shore Regional Council, which funded the $48,400 grant project, serves as the regional planning and economic development agency for Cecil, Kent, and Queen Anne’s counties. This new project will serve residents north of Elkton in the 0-300 block of Cat Swamp Road and 2000-2300 block of Barksdale Road.

From press release:

“All residents and businesses within Cecil County require access to reliable, affordable, and high speed broadband service,” noted County Executive Alan McCarthy. “We are proud of our success in bringing broadband to these portions of Cat Swamp Road and Barksdale Road, and we look forward to finding solutions to extend broadband to other areas that lack it.”
