St. Mary’s County Department of Economic Development established a COVID-19 Small Business and Non-Profit Relief Fund to support local businesses and agencies through the pandemic.
The County appropriated $2 million for small businesses and non-profits that have suffered a financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses/non-profits with 15 or less employees are eligible for grants of $5,000 and businesses/non-profits with 16-30 employees are eligible for a grant of $7,500. The funds “may be used for working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility expenses, or other similar expenses that occur in the ordinary course of business incurred between March 15, 2020 and September 15, 2020.”
