Queen Anne’s County Public School (QACPS) added outdoor internet access points for the main parking lots of Sudlersville Middle, Church Hill Elementary, Queen Anne’s County High, and Grasonville Elementary schools.
Students and employees are able to connect to the network and their devices have been programmed to automatically connect to the “MAC” Wi-Fi once in range of the wireless access points. QACPS also have purchased mobile hotspots to increase connectivity for students and educators who previously did not have access at home.
From My Eastern Shore:
“I want to thank our technology professionals, students, and staff for their commitment to learning during this challenging time,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Andrea M. Kane. “We will continue collaborating to increase access to remote learning and plan for a successful transition back to school in the fall regardless of whether we are at home, in our school buildings, or a blended program. We will continue delivering high-quality education for all students.”
This announcement comes after State Superintendent of School Karen Salmon announced public school buildings would be closed for the rest of the academic year.
