Calvert County Human Resources Director Paula Gray last month announced her retirement following 40 years of public service. Gray’s retirement will take effect Jan. 10, 2020.

Gray began her career with Calvert County Government in 1979 as secretary II/office machine operator with the Department of Finance & Budget. Gray held various roles in the Office of Personnel before being promoted to personnel director in 2015. Her job title was changed to human resources director in July 2017.

According to a press release:

“Paula Gray has been a phenomenal human resources director; a great leader, a team player and a consummate professional,” said County Administrator Terry Shannon. “Paula is compassionate and truly cares about her co-workers. It has been an honor and privilege to work with Paula; she will be greatly missed.”

“I am proud of the accomplishments and improvements that have been implemented by human resources over the years, but more than anything, I am proud of my team,” said Gray. “None of my accomplishments would have been possible without the work of dedicated staff. I will miss them the most.”
