Embrace the Future with MD Planning Commissioners 36th Annual Conference

The Maryland Planning Commissioners Association (MPCA) is hosting their 36th Annual Conference – November 6 & 7, 2019, in Aberdeen Maryland. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Meeting the Trends, Embracing the Future,” and will include sessions on the following topics:

  • Open Meetings Act
  • State Mandated Planning Commissioner Education Course
  • Planning Commissioner Ethics and Ex Parte Communication
  • Nuts and Bolts of Being a Planning Commissioner
  • Leveraging Layered Incentives for Community Development
  • 10 Characteristics of Successful Communities
  • Housing Trends (AICP CM Credits)
  • Working with the Public for Positive Results (AICP CM Credits)

Staff from the City of Aberdeen and other expert panelists will also update attendees on local planning efforts and topics, including a tour of Swan Harbor Farm and the Frito Lay Facility. Additional Speakers include:

  • Senator Robert Cassilly, District 34, Harford County
  • Mark Schlottman, Aberdeen Planning Commission Chair
  • Billy Boniface, Harford County Director of Administration
