Beginning this fall, the Worcester County Health Department will offer free smoking cessation classes to all county residents.
According to 47 ABC:
Worcester Health officials say they are committed to helping smokers establish new behaviors that will lead to life free of tobacco. Through these classes, Chantix, gum, patch, lozenges, and other aids to help quit tobacco will be offered through a voucher program.
Classes will be offered as follows:
- Mondays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, running October 22nd through January 7th, at the Snow Hill Health Center, located at 6040 Public Landing Road
- Wednesdays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, running October 24th through January 9th, at the Berlin Health Center, located at 9730 Healthway Drive
- Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, running October 25th through January 10th, at the Pocomoke Health Center, located at 400 Walnut Street
Worcester County will also offer individual, group, and youth counseling sessions for anyone struggling to kick the habit.
