The Carroll County Times lauded the Carroll County Commissioners for selecting Mike Fowler, a longtime BGE community relations leader, for its policy role in Annapolis.
In an editorial, the Times offers:
Mike Fowler, who spent more than 40 years working for Baltimore Gas & Electric in several capacities, was announced as the new legislative liaison for the county last week.
Fowler is already a bit of known commodity when it comes to the legislature and Carroll County. In his 14 years as external affairs manager for BGE, the state’s largest utility, he has plenty of experience navigating and making connections in Annapolis in that role, and working as a liaison with local governments and communities, including those in Carroll for BGE.
…
Getting an advocate with Fowler’s experience and background is quite a coup for Carroll County.
The Times had previously reported on Fowler’s hire:
The county announced Thursday the hiring of Michael Fowler, whose position will be a full-time, contractual position from January through April to cover the 2018 Maryland General Assembly session, according to a news release from the county.
Fowler, who retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. in 2017 after nearly four decades with the company, will work as the go-between from Annapolis to Carroll, providing information and updates for commissioners and the delegation, and will advocate for Carroll County.
