Montgomery County Council President Roger Berliner was recently awarded the Elizabeth and David Scull Award for Metropolitan Public Service by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG). Berliner currently serves as chair of the board of directors for COG. From the press release:

“I was deeply touched to receive this award,” said Council President Berliner. “It is particularly gratifying given that Elizabeth and David Scull were former Montgomery County Councilmembers and represented the very best of what it means to be in public service.”

The award recognizes outstanding leadership and service to the community. Berliner led the board through a focus on restoring safety and service in the Metrorail system.
